I bought these :)
Apr 11th, 2009 by Jes

These are a pair of TOMS shoes. For every pair purchased, they send a pair to a child in need. One for one. They shipped yesterday and I’ll probably have them by the end of next week. I hope they’re comfortable! If so I’ll probably grab a few other pairs, there are a lot of colours to choose from!

For every 2 of these bikes sold, Kona donates 1. The program donates Kona Africabikes to home healthcare workers in sub-Saharan Africa. For 2009, the program is tentatively looking to donates bikes to areas in Tanzania, South Africa, Burkina Faso and Mali. I want one :)

Stag
Mar 15th, 2009 by Jes

Curt’s stag is coming up! May 14/09 at the Union Hall on Dennis Street. He is going to start selling the tickets, $25, around the beginning of April. I was really lucky to find an online company that printed 250 business cards (aka stag tickets) for only $14.74 Canadian, delivered to my door. We chose slow delivery, so they’ll be here in about 3 weeks. That gives him about 1 month to sell them. Anyone interested? :)

Las Vegas trip 2009
Feb 18th, 2009 by Jes

It’s weird re-writing all of these blogs.

Since Curt has started up in the wedding photography business (www.curtoneil.com), he’s decided to start adding products that couples could be interested in, such as coffee table albums & customized guest books. We decided that we’d make our own guest book, and then later use it as a sample to show anyone interested in ordering one. When we were deciding what pictures to put inside, Curt had suggested using old pictures of us, but I didn’t want to. To be honest there aren’t really that many, and I wanted the guest book to have a series of shots from one time, not many weird pictures over 5 years. And then I decided I didn’t want them taken in the snow, so we’re going to Las Vegas :)

Long ago when we discussed getting married, we thought that going to Vegas and then getting our pictures taken at all of the locations. All in one day we could visit New York, Cairo, Paris, and Venice. Then we researched photography down there and the people I were finding charged $200 per location, with each Vegas hotel being 1 location. We didn’t like that, so the Vegas idea went bust. But now we get to do it ourselves!!!

So we’re going from March 4-8 and staying in the New York New York hotel. It’s beside the Excalibur that we stayed at in 2005. We decided on NYNY because there was a promotion online that said if we booked with that hotel we’d get 2 free tickets to a Cirque production of our choice. We booked with a travel agent the very next day, and she phoned about the tickets and was told she had to wait 1 week before she could choose a show for us. 1 week later she discovered that the person who told her that was a dumbass, and we got stuck with tickets we don’t really want. So now we have to go see Ka, which is a martial-arts based Cirque, rather than Love which is the Beatles Cirque I’ve wanted to see ever since I heard it was coming out. THEN we hear that we could have booked the Excalibur (for less) and still would have received the 2 free tickets. So we’re out a chunk of cash. Hopefully NYNY has better rooms! I’ll make sure to post the best pics when we get back from the trip :)
